New best dog excuse story…
A Kenai dipnetter left the family dog on a truck parked near the river on opening day of this year’s annual dip net fishery. The excited pooch apparently managed to knock the vehicle out of park and into neutral. The liberated truck rolled into the Kenai River below and remained submerged for some time before being removed.

The sinking was the first use of the alert feature on a new Kenai Dipnet App. With the dip net season kicking into high gear in the coming days, it probably won’t be the last.
