The 2017 Resurrection Bay silver salmon season has been so good it’s wiped away most of the bad memories of 2016.

Last year the fish that make Seward’s season, the big hard-fighting silver salmon, never appeared.  Some of the best charter operators collected less than a hundred silvers for the season. This year they might be collecting close to 100 a day for full boats of anglers getting six silvers a piece.

With limits of six silvers per day inside the bay, it’s been a good alternative freezer filler.

Why the big flip?  Right now nobody knows or cares.
