Here’s your feel good fishing story of the week.
A North Pole 7-year-old whipped all comers in the Quartz Lake Ice Derby with a trophy rainbow. Ethan Vasquez was fishing with his father Kyle. Near the end of the derby both father and son hooked up with big rainbows. They managed to land both and had to scramble to get the fish to the weigh-in before the derby closed.
Ethan’s 25-incher won the $1000 Derby prize.
