Ship Creek fishing seminar

April 11, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game is hosting in conjunction with Dustin Slinker, owner of The Bait Shack, a long-time fishing business on Ship Creek banks, an introductory seminar on fishing for king salmon in Ship Creek at the William Jack Hernandez Sport Fish Hatchery (WJHSFH). This seminar is being held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the WJHSFH conference room which is located at 941 North Reeve Boulevard, Anchorage.

This is a free event for all angler levels who are interested in learning tips and techniques to help land a king salmon at Anchorage’s most popular urban salmon fishery. Located in the heart of the industrial area of downtown Anchorage, Ship Creek is the perfect spot to cast a line before work, during lunch, and after work. The king salmon returning to the Ship Creek fishery are stocked from the WJHSFH, just three miles up from the mouth of the creek.

Advanced registration is required, and space is limited, so sign up early! To register please contact the Anchorage Sport Fish Information Center at (907) 267-2218.
